Handle Difficult Clients on Fiverr: Mushkil Client ko Kaise Handle Karein?

Reading Time: 5 Minutes

Every freelancer needs to know how to handle difficult clients. You get a message, and the client is angry, rude, or asking for way too much work for very little money.

Your heart beats fast. You get angry. You want to argue.

Stop.

Reacting with emotion will kill your freelancing career. Reacting with professionalism will build it.

In my years on Fiverr, I have handled clients who wanted 500 pages done for cheap, clients who kept rejecting my work, and I even lost my account for 3 months due to a hacker! But because I stayed professional, I saved those relationships.

In this guide, I am sharing my exact real chat scripts. These are the messages I sent to save the situation, protect my dignity, and still get 5-star reviews.

1. How to Handle Difficult Clients with Low Budgets

The Situation:
I had a client (“Zeus”) who wanted me to convert 40–50 documents (approx. 400–500 pages) from PDF to Word. My standard rate would have been around $400.

He messaged: “My budget is around $150.”

Most beginners would either get angry or accept the low price out of desperation just for getting your first order. I did neither.

My Script (The “Value Pivot”):

I acknowledged his budget but stood firm on my value.

“Thanks for sharing. I completely understand your budget. Given the formatting involved (headers, footers, tables, and branding), my standard rate is $0.80/page. However, since you’re looking at a long-term association, I can adjust this to $0.65/page, and for very large volumes (500+ pages), we can work at $0.50/page.”

Why this worked:

  • I didn’t say “No.”
  • I explained why my price is high (formatting involved).
  • I offered a discount only for bulk work.

2. The “Show Me Previous Work” Trap

The Situation:
A client (“Ervin”) wanted to see examples of Excel templates I had made for other clients to check if I was good enough.

The Problem:
I cannot share previous clients’ files. It is a violation of confidentiality. If I share Client A’s file with Client B, Client B will think I will leak his data too!

My Script (The Privacy Protection):

“I completely understand. To respect past client confidentiality, I don’t share old project files. But no worries — I’ll create a fresh, real sample based on your requirements. I’ll share real screenshots and even the editable Excel file so you can review it before finalizing.”

The Result:
The client respected me more because he knew his data would be safe with me.

3. The Nightmare: Hacked Account & Recovery (Meri Real Story)

This was my biggest challenge. My Fiverr account was hacked. The hacker messaged my new and old clients asking for bank details. Fiverr detected this suspicious activity and permanently deleted my account.

I lost everything overnight.

But I didn’t panic. I didn’t get disappointed because I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. I trusted the process.

I followed Fiverr’s policy and kept contacting support. It took 3 months, but I got my account back. The first thing I did? I messaged my old clients to explain.

My Script (Winning the Client Back):

“Dear [Client Name], I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to inform you that my Fiverr account was recently suspended for a few months, but I am now back and available to continue providing services… Thank you for your understanding and support.”

The Result:
My old client (“rg1021”) replied immediately. He gave me access to his folders again, and we resumed work. Honesty pays off.

❌ WARNING: Do Not Use Third-Party Apps (Auto Refreshers)

Many Indian beginners make a huge mistake: They use “Auto Refresher” Chrome extensions or mobile apps to stay “Online” 24/7. Do not do this.

Using third-party apps to fake your online status is a violation of Fiverr’s Terms of Service. It can get your account banned.

Be Active, Don’t Fake It. If you use bots, you are putting your entire business at risk for a small shortcut.

My Top 5 “Copy-Paste” Scripts for You

Use these exact sentences when you are stuck:

  • When a client asks for free work:
“I’d be happy to do a small 2-page sample so you can check the quality. For the full document, I can send a custom offer.”
  • When you are late (Be Honest):
“Actually, tomorrow is my sister’s marriage so I will be able to rectify it after 3 days if you don’t mind. I appreciate your patience.”
  • When a client is angry:
“I understand your concern. Let me fix that for you right away. My goal is to make sure you are 100% satisfied.”
  • Asking for a Review (Polite):
“If everything looks good and meets your requirements, I’d really appreciate your feedback and review. It helps me a lot!”
  • The “I’m Online” Greeting:
“Hi! Thanks for contacting me. I’m currently online and will respond shortly. Meanwhile, feel free to share the task details…”

Conclusion: You Are The Boss

Remember one thing: Freelancing is a business. It is not a prison 9-to-5 job.

In a 9-to-5, you have a boss who tells you what to do. In freelancing, YOU are the boss.

  • You choose the price.
  • You choose the clients.
  • You choose your holidays.

If a client is rude, you have the freedom to walk away. If you make a mistake, you have the power to fix it. Treat your freelancing like a real business, stay honest, and success will follow.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I ask a buyer for a 5-star review on Fiverr?

No, never ask for “5 stars” specifically. This is against Fiverr’s Terms of Service and can get your account warned. You can politely ask for “feedback” or a “review” using the script I shared above, but let the client decide the rating.

What should I do if a client is being abusive or rude?

Do not reply with anger. First, try to de-escalate using a polite script. If they use bad language or threats, take a screenshot and report them to Fiverr Customer Support immediately. You do not have to tolerate abuse.

Is it okay to use an Auto Refresher to stay online?

Absolutely not. Fiverr’s algorithm can detect auto-refreshers and bots. Using them will lead to a permanent ban. It is better to download the Fiverr mobile app to stay responsive while you are away from your laptop.

What if the client wants to cancel the order after I did the work?

This is frustrating. First, ask them specifically what is wrong and offer a revision. If they still refuse, you can contact Fiverr Support to prove you delivered the work. However, sometimes it is better to mutually cancel to avoid a bad review—protecting your profile rating is more important than one order.

Global Product Catalog Update

The Challenge: Updating a large volume of product data sheets for Heskins LLC. The task involved changing Copyrights, Emails, and converting SKUs specifically for US, Canadian, and Mexican markets without altering other technical data.

⚡ My Solution:

  • Region-Specific Logic: Updated SKUs to US versions for US files, and Canadian/Mexican versions for French files.

  • Brand Compliance: Replaced “Heskins Ltd” with “Heskins LLC” across all footers.

  • Precision Editing: Only touched specific sections (SKUs, Contact info) while keeping the rest of the content intact.

✅ Final Outcome: Accurate, market-ready product documentation ready for North American distribution.

Large-Scale Document Digitization

The Challenge: Converting a massive 176-page PDF (40k words, 110MB) into a fully editable MS Word document. The biggest challenge was maintaining the exact original layout, fonts, and formatting which auto-converters usually destroy.

⚡ My Solution:

  • Manual Formatting: Retyped and adjusted complex sections where software failed.

  • Layout Preservation: Ensured headers, footers, and paragraph styles matched the original exactly.

  • Optimization: Created a lightweight Word file that was easy to edit further.

✅ Final Outcome: A perfect digital twin of the original document in editable Word format, delivered within the deadline.

Business Reputation Data Mining

The Challenge: The client provided a list of consulting firm URLs but lacked key reputation metrics. They needed to find specific social proof data like Yelp reviews, Google ratings, and testimonials for each firm.

⚡ My Solution:

  • Digital Investigation: Researched each firm to locate their specific Yelp IDs and Google Business Profiles.

  • Data Aggregation: Extracted specific star ratings, review counts, and testimonial text.

  • Mapping: Organized all social proof data back to the original firm URLs for easy comparison.

✅ Final Outcome: A comprehensive reputation dataset allowing the client to analyze firm credibility instantly.

Healthcare Market Research (4,000+ Records)

The Challenge: Compiling and verifying detailed data for 4,000+ healthcare companies to support a strategic outreach campaign. The client needed accurate founder details, revenue estimates, and verified LinkedIn profiles.

⚡ My Solution:

  • Deep Research: Used platforms like Crunchbase and LinkedIn to verify company founders and roles.

  • Data Enrichment: Extracted estimated revenue, websites, and founding years.

  • Quality Control: Followed a strict framework to ensure every LinkedIn URL and data point was active and valid.

✅ Final Outcome: A high-quality, segmented database that the client successfully used for market analysis and lead generation.

Academic Data Extraction & Formatting

The Challenge: The client needed to extract structured data from complex academic PDF syllabi into a clean spreadsheet.

Goal: Capture specific details like course names, reading lists, authors, and page counts—data that automated tools often miss or mess up.

Academic PDF Research & Data Extraction Project

⚡ My Solution:

  • Manual Precision: Manually extracted course details and university names to ensure 100% accuracy.

  • Data Structuring: Organized reading lists with author names and online source URLs into a strict format.

  • Verification: Cross-checked page counts and source links for every entry.

✅ Final Outcome: Delivered a well-formatted Google Sheet with precise academic data, ready for immediate educational research use.

Automated Data Consolidation & Deduplication

The Challenge: A client provided 4 separate spreadsheets containing over 4,000+ mixed customer records. The data was heavily duplicated, with inconsistent names (e.g., “Raj S.” vs “Raj Sahu”) and unformatted phone numbers.

Goal: Create a single, 100% clean Master Sheet for CRM import within 48 hours.

⚡ My Automated Solution: Instead of manual sorting, I engineered a custom Excel workflow:

  • Smart Merging: Consolidated all 4 sources into one raw database.

  • Advanced Logic: Applied formulas to identify duplicates based on “Name + Mobile Number” while preserving unique Email IDs.

  • Standardization: Auto-formatted all phone numbers to include country codes (+91) and fixed name casing.

  • Error Trapping: Used conditional formatting to highlight potential conflicts for a final manual check.

✅ Final Outcome: Delivered a 100% unique, CRM-ready master sheet well within the urgent 2-day deadline, saving the client roughly 20+ hours of manual work.
